Lake of the Woods is renowned for excellent fishing of multiple species. Walleye, bass, muskie, northern pike, jumbo perch, crappie, and lake trout are abundant throughout the lake. Whether you are chasing gigantic muskies or jigging for walleye, Smith Camps is your one stop fishing destination for all fisher people, old or new. Let one of our knowledgeable guides take you out for a day of fishing. Our facilities also include a bait and tackle shop, boat launch, marina, and a screened in fish processing area. All cabin rentals include dock space so your boat is ready to go at all times. Our friendly dock hands will help you with anything you need.

Guided Trips

Let Al Smith or one of our other qualified guides take you out for a day of fishing like no other. Al’s custom designed 26 foot aluminum fishing boat might not be pretty but its very functional. With a 2017 250 hp Yamaha S.H.O. it will get you quickly and comfortably to all the best fishing spots on the lake. After a morning of catching fish enjoy a delicious shore lunch prepared just for you. Savor the succulent flavors of your freshly caught fish, potatoes, corn, beans, fresh corn bread, and Joanie’s famous brownies. After lunch head back onto the lake for the remainder of the afternoon Fishing, exploring historical sites , bird watching or go for a swim and relax in the sun.

Al’s boat is a minimum of 8 hours with shore lunch included at $130.00 per hour for trips within 20 miles of lodge. A fuel surcharge may apply for longer range trips requested by the customer.

All fish will be professionally processed and packaged for convenient transportation. Our guided trips include water, pop, bait, and all required equipment. Fishing licenses must be purchased prior to the trip and are now only available online at Hunt and Fish Ontario.
