At Smith Camps you can enjoy a wilderness vacation in the Boreal Forest of the Canadian Shield. Our Camp is set on a fairly quiet bay (except when the S/E wind blows) on the Northeast corner of Lake of the Woods. Here are a few of the many reasons to call and book your holiday with us…
Enjoy the following:
- Clean, rustic cabins, all with a nice view of the lake.
- Corporate Team events where you can have a confidential meeting, then guided fishing with a fresh fish shore lunch.
- Weather permitting, nightly campfires on the beach.
- Fantastic Fishing – Walleye, Smallmouth Bass (with a few Largies), Northern Pike, Muskie, Perch, Crappie, Lake Trout (40-minute boat ride), and Whitefish.
- Guided Fishing Trips – Fish throughout Lake of the Woods, stop on an island for a swim while your guide prepares shore lunch, or have a bug-free shore lunch in the Lodge. Alternatively, you can have a box lunch and bring your catch home to your family.
- Family Friendly Activities – Our groomed beach is great for kids and safe for swimming! We also have canoes, wilderness hiking trails, and golfing at nearby courses in Lake of the Woods. Lake of the Woods also has a great Museum/Art Center and lots of cool little boutiques for unique gift shopping.
- The restaurant is no longer open, which has resulted in a much quieter and more peaceful vacation experience. Yes, registered guests will still have access to the lodge.
- We can often find your favorite sports game or race on the big-screen TV in the lodge.
- Free WiFi in our lodge. We have also added a cell booster system for much better cell phone service.
- Year-Round Road Lake Access through our private landing – 2 hours east of Winnipeg and 2.5 hours north of the U.S. border by road and 1.5 hours north by boat from the international Ontario/Minnesota water border at North West Angle.
